Yukon College became Yukon University in 2020, the first university in Canada's far north. The main Ayamdigut campus is on a hill above Whitehorse, looking over the Yukon River valley. Programmes are small and practical: business, health, early learning, trades, and northern subjects such as Indigenous governance and environmental science. It suits students who want a small campus and a very different kind of Canada.
