Founded in 1968 as Wilmington College, this private nonprofit university was built around working adults, and that still shapes it. Classes run in the evenings, online and in shorter blocks, and tuition is low for a private school. The main campus is in New Castle, near the Delaware River and the I-95 corridor. International students mostly come for graduate programmes in IT, cybersecurity and business.

The New Castle campus is a commuter-style site off Route 13, with classrooms, a library and parking rather than large residence halls.
New Castle is a small colonial town on the Delaware River. Wilmington is ten minutes north, and Philadelphia is about 40 minutes by car or SEPTA regional rail.

Wilmington University admits on a rolling basis. International applicants should apply at least three to four months before the term to allow time for the I-20 and visa interview.
Terms start in fall, spring and summer, and most graduate programmes accept students at each point.
It's the F-1 student visa. Get your I-20 from Wilmington University first (they need your deposit and bank documents), then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and attend the visa interview. Book the interview early in peak season.
Information systems, cybersecurity and the MBA are the most common choices. Graduate entry needs a bachelor's degree and IELTS 6.0. F-1 students must take enough in-person classes, so confirm the delivery format of your programme.
Scholarship money for international students is limited, but tuition is already low. Ask admissions about any current awards.
