Weill Cornell's buildings line York Avenue between the East River and First Avenue. Many students live in school housing a few blocks away.
The Upper East Side is quieter than Midtown, with Central Park and the museums of Fifth Avenue within reach. Rent in Manhattan is very high, so subsidised housing matters.
Form I-20 issued by Weill Cornell Medicine
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
MD applications go through AMCAS with a deadline in autumn, about a year before entry. Master's programmes usually close between winter and spring, and PhD deadlines are around December.
The MD starts in August. Master's programmes start in summer or August, depending on the course.
It's the F-1 student visa. Get your I-20 from Weill Cornell Medicine first (they need your deposit and bank documents), then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and attend the visa interview. Book the interview early in peak season.
The MD, biostatistics and data science, health informatics and clinical epidemiology draw international applicants. The MD needs a US or Canadian prerequisite record in many cases, plus the MCAT. Master's programmes need a relevant bachelor's degree and strong English.
MD students with financial need receive scholarships in place of loans. International MD applicants should confirm eligibility for aid and may need to show funding. Master's scholarships are limited; PhD students are usually fully funded.
