Vancouver Community College has taught in the city since 1965 from two main campuses: Downtown on West Pender Street, and Broadway beside VCC-Clark SkyTrain station. The public college is known for culinary arts, baking, hospitality, health sciences, music, dance and jewellery design. Most programmes are hands-on diplomas and certificates, and culinary students cook for paying guests at the downtown campus restaurant.

The Downtown campus is a few blocks from Granville Street, the waterfront and Waterfront Station. Broadway is further east, on a hill beside the Millennium Line.
Vancouver has mild, wet winters and mountains close enough for day trips. Rent is among the highest in Canada, so many students share apartments further out.

VCC accepts international applications until programmes fill. Apply six to eight months ahead, as popular programmes such as culinary arts fill early and the study permit takes time.
Many programmes start in September and January, and some culinary and baking programmes have extra start dates.
A Canadian study permit. Start with the letter of acceptance from Vancouver Community College and, where required, the provincial attestation letter, then apply to IRCC online. Allow a few months, as processing times vary by country.
Culinary arts, baking and pastry, hospitality management and jewellery art and design are popular. Entry needs secondary school completion and English at around IELTS 6.0; some programmes also ask for a portfolio or interview.
VCC has a small number of awards for international students. Check the VCC Foundation awards page for current offers.
