Syracuse University founded Utica College in 1946, and it became independent decades later before taking the name Utica University in 2022. It is a private university in the Mohawk Valley of central New York. Cybersecurity and economic crime are its signature fields, alongside nursing, physical therapy and construction management. The campus is on the south-west side of Utica, near the Adirondack foothills.

Utica reviews applications on a rolling basis. International applicants should apply by about June for fall and October for spring.
Most programmes start in fall (August) or spring (January).
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from Utica College after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Cybersecurity at bachelor's and master's level is the main draw, along with nursing, construction management and the MBA. Undergraduates need a secondary school record and IELTS 6.0; graduate programmes ask for IELTS 6.5 and a relevant degree.
Utica gives merit scholarships to most undergraduates, including international students. Graduate students have fewer awards, so ask admissions directly.
