The Heslington campus sits south-east of the city, built around a large lake with ducks and geese. Buses run into the centre in about 15 minutes.
York is a walled city with the Minster, the Shambles and the River Ouse. Leeds is 25 minutes by train and London about two hours.

The college takes applications year-round. Apply three to four months before your intake so the CAS and visa are done in time.
Pathways start at several points in the year, mainly September and January, with some pre-master's lengths starting later. The shorter course lengths suit students with higher English scores.
You'll apply for a Student visa. University of York gives you a CAS number once your offer is unconditional and the deposit is paid. You can then apply online up to six months before the course starts, with bank evidence and the Immigration Health Surcharge.
Business, law and social sciences foundations are popular, and the business pre-master's is the busiest postgraduate route. Foundation entry needs completed secondary school and IELTS around 5.0; the pre-master's needs a degree and IELTS 5.5.
Kaplan offers some scholarships on pathway fees for certain intakes. The University of York also has international scholarships for the degree you progress to.
