Martin is a small farming town in north-west Tennessee, and UT Martin's agriculture students work on a university farm with cattle and crops next to campus. The school started as Hall-Moody Institute in 1900 and joined the University of Tennessee system in 1927. Beyond agriculture, it teaches business, engineering, nursing and education. It also fields a college rodeo team. Classes are small and costs are low.

Martin is a town of around 10,000 people, and life revolves around campus, sport and a handful of local restaurants. The Tennessee Soybean Festival takes over town each September.
Costs are very low. Memphis is about two hours south-west and Nashville around two and a half hours east, so a car is useful.
Form I-20 issued by the institution
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
UT Martin reviews international applications on a rolling basis. Apply by about June for fall and October for spring, leaving time for the I-20 and visa interview.
Most programmes start in fall (August) or spring (January). Nursing and engineering mainly start in the fall.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from University of Tennessee at Martin after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Agriculture, engineering, business, nursing and the MBA are popular. Undergraduates need secondary school results and IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 61. The MBA needs a bachelor's degree and IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79.
UT Martin offers some scholarships for international undergraduates, and a few graduate assistantships. Check with the international admissions office for current awards.
