St. Mike's, as students call it, is a Catholic college founded by the Basilian Fathers in 1852 and federated with the University of Toronto. You apply to U of T's Faculty of Arts & Science and choose St. Michael's as your college, and you graduate with a U of T degree. The college gives you a smaller community, with residences and a dining hall on the east side of the St. George campus, near Queen's Park. It also runs its own programmes, such as Book and Media Studies and Celtic Studies.

The college sits between Bay Street and Queen's Park, a short walk from Museum and Wellesley subway stations. Its residences mix older stone houses with newer halls on the same few blocks.
Toronto is expensive, especially for rent, so apply for residence early. The TTC subway and streetcars cover the city, and winters are cold.
Letter of acceptance from University of Toronto
Ontario provincial attestation letter
Proof of funds for tuition and living
Online IRCC study permit application
Medical exam, if requested
Valid passport and biometrics
You apply through the University of Toronto, not the college, using the OUAC 105 form, and list St. Michael's as your college choice. U of T's recommended date for international applicants is usually early November, and the final deadline mid-January.
Undergraduate study starts in September. There's no January entry for first-year students.
A Canadian study permit. Start with the letter of acceptance from University of Toronto and, where required, the provincial attestation letter, then apply to IRCC online. Allow a few months, as processing times vary by country.
Most students take U of T Arts & Science programmes and add St. Mike's own offerings, such as Book and Media Studies or Celtic Studies. Admission is competitive and based on senior secondary results. You'll need IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 100 unless exempt.
U of T awards the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship to a small number of outstanding applicants, and St. Michael's has its own in-course awards and bursaries. Other entrance awards for international students are limited.
