Undergraduate deadlines vary by college: most programmes accept international applications for September until spring, with earlier cut-offs for competitive programmes such as engineering and nursing. Graduate deadlines are set by each department, typically three to six months before the start term. Check your programme's page.
September is the main intake for all programmes. Many undergraduate programmes and course-based master's degrees also admit for January, and some graduate programmes accept May starts. Check your programme's admissions page for the intakes open to international students.
You need a Canadian study permit. After you accept your offer, the university issues a letter of acceptance and, where required, a provincial attestation letter. You then apply online to IRCC with proof of funds and give biometrics. Allow three to four months for processing.
Computer science, electrical engineering, the Edwards MBA, public health and agricultural economics attract the most international applicants. Master's entry needs a four-year bachelor's degree with a 70% average or equivalent, TOEFL 86 or IELTS 6.5. The MBA requires the GMAT or GRE and work experience.
Yes. International undergraduates are automatically considered for entrance scholarships based on their admission average, worth up to CAD 40,000 over four years for top applicants. Graduate students can apply for departmental scholarships, and thesis-based students usually receive funding from their supervisor. Check the awards pages for details.
