The University of Richmond's Gothic-style campus wraps around Westhampton Lake in the west end of Richmond, Virginia's capital. It's a private university of about 3,000 undergraduates, with a liberal arts college, the Robins School of Business, a law school and the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, the first school of its kind in the US. A large endowment for its size pays for small classes and generous aid.

Undergraduates apply through the Common Application, with Early Decision I in November and Early Decision II and Regular Decision in early January. The law school reviews applications on a rolling basis through the spring.
Undergraduates start in late August. There's no spring intake for first-year students.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from University of Richmond after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Business administration, economics, leadership studies and computer science are popular. Admission is selective and looks at school grades, essays and recommendations, with TOEFL 100 or IELTS 7.0 or equivalent. Many applicants can choose not to send SAT or ACT scores.
Richmond offers need-based aid to some international students and a small number of merit scholarships. Aid for international applicants is limited and competitive, so apply for it at the same time as admission.
