Edmundston sits in the far north-west of New Brunswick, on the Saint John River facing Madawaska, Maine, and close to the Quebec border. The Université de Moncton's campus here is small and entirely French-speaking. It's home to the university's forestry school, and it also teaches nursing, business administration and first-year programmes that lead on to the main Moncton campus.

Edmundston is a French-speaking town of around 16,000 people on a bend of the Saint John River. The campus is on the edge of town, near forest trails used both for teaching and for walks.
Winters bring heavy snow, and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are popular. Quebec City is about three hours away, and the US is just a bridge across the river.

Apply by early spring for September so there's time for the study permit. Places in forestry and nursing are limited.
Programmes start in September.
You'll need a study permit. Université de Moncton sends a letter of acceptance, and most students also need a provincial attestation letter. The permit application goes online to IRCC with proof of funds and biometrics.
Forestry, nursing, business administration and arts are the main programmes. Teaching is in French, so you'll need to show strong French plus completed secondary school with the right subjects.
The Université de Moncton's entrance scholarships apply on the Edmundston campus too, and some fee reductions are available to students from partner francophone countries.
