Université de Moncton is the largest French-language university in Canada outside Quebec, founded in 1963 to serve New Brunswick's Acadian community. The main campus is in Moncton, with smaller ones in Edmundston and Shippagan. Teaching is in French, so most international students come from French-speaking countries in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. Law, engineering, business, nursing and the sciences are all taught here.

Moncton is Canada's first officially bilingual city, so you'll hear French and English on the same street. Downtown is small, with restaurants along Main Street and the Petitcodiac River's tidal bore arriving twice a day.
Rent is lower than in most Canadian cities. The Northumberland Strait beaches, with warm water in summer, are about 30 minutes away, and Halifax is under three hours by car.

International students should apply well ahead, ideally by early spring for September and by autumn for January, to leave time for the study permit. Some programmes, such as law and nursing, have fixed earlier deadlines.
Most programmes start in September. Some also admit in January.

Business administration, engineering, nursing, law and the MBA are popular. All teaching is in French, so you need to show strong French, through schooling in French or a recognised test, plus the usual academic results.
Yes. The university offers entrance scholarships to international students with strong grades, and some fee reductions apply to students from partner francophone countries. Check the current awards list.
