Hartford reviews undergraduate applications on a rolling basis, with Early Action closing 15 November 2026 for the best scholarship consideration; Hartt applicants also need an audition. Graduate applications are rolling, and international students should apply by 1 June 2027 for fall and 1 November 2026 for spring.
Undergraduates can start in fall (late August) or spring (January), though Hartt performance programmes admit mainly for fall. Engineering, business analytics, the Barney MBA and computer science master's admit for both fall and spring, while architecture is fall only.
You need an F-1 student visa. The International Center issues your Form I-20 after you accept the offer and submit proof of funding. Then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and book an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Engineering, business analytics, the Barney MBA, computer science and architecture attract the most international applicants. Graduate admission needs a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0, TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.5; the GRE and GMAT are optional for most programmes. Hartt programmes require an audition or portfolio.
Yes. International undergraduates are automatically considered for merit scholarships worth a large share of tuition, and Hartt offers talent awards based on the audition. Graduate applicants may receive partial merit scholarships. Check the financial aid pages for current amounts.
