Music students at Trinity Laban practise in King Charles Court, part of the Old Royal Naval College on the Thames at Greenwich. The dancers work a short walk away in Deptford, in the glass-clad Laban Building by Herzog & de Meuron, which won the Stirling Prize in 2003. The conservatoire was formed in 2005 when Trinity College of Music merged with the Laban dance centre. Training is intensive and built around performance.

King Charles Court looks straight onto the river, with the Cutty Sark and Greenwich Market a few minutes away. The DLR and the Thames Clippers boats get you to Canary Wharf and central London quickly.
Deptford is scruffier and cheaper, with a street market on the high street and plenty of artists' studios. Rents in south-east London are high but usually below central London prices.
CAS from the institution
Proof of funds for fees and living costs
English test at B2 level or above
TB test certificate, if required
Immigration Health Surcharge payment
Valid passport with blank pages
Most music courses take applications through UCAS Conservatoires, with the main deadline in early October for entry the following September. Dance and musical theatre follow separate dates, and some postgraduate routes accept later applications. Auditions follow, in person or by recording.
Nearly every course starts in September. There's no January intake for degree courses.
You'll apply for a Student visa. Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance gives you a CAS number once your offer is unconditional and the deposit is paid. You can then apply online up to six months before the course starts, with bank evidence and the Immigration Health Surcharge.
The BMus, contemporary dance, musical theatre and the MSc in Dance Science are the best-known courses. Offers depend mainly on audition, with IELTS around 6.0 for undergraduates and 6.5 for most postgraduate courses.
Yes, though places are competitive. Trinity Laban awards scholarships largely on the strength of the audition, and some are funded by named trusts. Ask about them when you audition.
