Research Triangle Park, home to IBM, Cisco and a long list of drug and biotech firms, is about 20 minutes from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. The school sits on Duke's West Campus in Durham. Its Daytime MBA is known for a team-based culture that students call Team Fuqua. It also runs one-year master's programmes in management and quantitative management that many international students take straight after a first degree.

MMS and MQM
Fuqua's building sits among the pine woods of Duke's West Campus, near the Gothic chapel and Duke Gardens. Most MBA students rent apartments a short drive away.
Durham is an old tobacco town whose brick warehouses now hold offices, restaurants and flats. Raleigh and Chapel Hill are close by, rents are below big coastal cities, and a car helps.
Form I-20 issued by Duke University
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
The Daytime MBA admits in rounds, with Early Action in early September, Round 1 in October, Round 2 in January and Round 3 in March. International applicants should aim for Round 1 or 2 to leave time for the I-20 and visa. The one-year master's use similar rounds.
The Daytime MBA starts in August. The MMS and MQM programmes start in summer, usually July, and finish the following spring.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Duke University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
The Daytime MBA and the MQM: Business Analytics are the most popular programmes with international students. The MBA needs work experience, a GMAT or GRE score, essays and an interview. The MQM and MMS are for recent graduates with little or no work experience.
Fuqua awards merit scholarships to MBA and master's applicants at admission, and international students are eligible. Awards range from partial to full tuition, and most need no separate application.
