Undergraduate admission is rolling, and international applicants should apply by 1 May 2027 for fall and 1 October 2026 for spring. Graduate deadlines are set by each programme, with most computing and business master's closing between 1 March and 1 June for fall.
Undergraduates can start in fall (August), spring (January) or summer. Computer science, data science, the MBA and mechanical engineering master's admit for both fall and spring, while marine biology is fall only. Check your programme's page to confirm.
You need an F-1 student visa. The Office of International Education issues your Form I-20 after you accept the offer and submit proof of funding. Then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and book an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Computer science, data science, the MBA, marine biology and mechanical engineering attract the most international applicants. Graduate admission needs a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 and TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.5, with the GRE for some programmes. Undergraduate admission is based mainly on grades.
Yes. International undergraduates can apply for competitive merit scholarships, and in Texas an award of USD 1,000 or more can also qualify a student for the lower in-state tuition rate. Graduate students can apply for teaching and research assistantships.
