For fall 2027 undergraduate entry, Early Decision I closes 15 November 2026, and Early Decision II and Regular Decision both close 5 January 2027. Graduate deadlines vary by school: the iSchool and engineering master's have rounds from December to April, and Maxwell's MPA closes in January.
Undergraduates start in the fall (late August). Most iSchool and engineering master's programmes admit for both fall and spring (January), the Maxwell MPA starts in June, and Newhouse master's programmes are fall only. Check your programme's admissions page to confirm.
You need an F-1 student visa. The Center for International Services issues your Form I-20 after you accept the offer and submit proof of funding. Then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and book an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Computer science, information systems, applied data science, public administration and media and communication attract the most international applicants. Graduate admission needs a strong bachelor's degree, TOEFL 100 or IELTS 7.0, and the GRE for some programmes. Undergraduate admission is selective, with an acceptance rate around 40%.
Yes. International undergraduates are considered for merit scholarships when they apply, though need-based aid for them is limited. The iSchool, Maxwell and Newhouse schools offer partial merit scholarships to master's applicants, and research programmes offer assistantships. Check each school's financial aid page.
