DeLand is a small town between Orlando and Daytona Beach, with oak-shaded streets and a historic downtown, and Stetson University has been there since 1883. That makes it Florida's oldest private university. Undergraduates can manage real money in the Roland George Investments Program, one of the longest-running student-managed funds in the US. Music, business and environmental science are other draws. The law school is separate, in Gulfport.

Campus is a few blocks from Woodland Boulevard, DeLand's main street of cafes and restaurants. Most undergraduates live in university housing.
SunRail commuter trains run from DeLand to Orlando, and the Atlantic beaches at Daytona and New Smyrna are about 40 minutes east. Summers are hot and humid.

Stetson has Early Action and Early Decision deadlines in November, then regular decision, with later applications reviewed as space allows. International students should apply by early spring for fall entry. Graduate programmes review applications on a rolling basis.
Undergraduates usually start in fall (August), and some are admitted for spring (January). The MBA starts in fall.
It's the F-1 student visa. Get your I-20 from Stetson University first (they need your deposit and bank documents), then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and attend the visa interview. Book the interview early in peak season.
Finance and business, music, environmental science, computer science and the MBA are popular. Undergraduates need secondary school results and English at about IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79. Music applicants audition, and graduate programmes need a bachelor's degree.
Stetson gives merit scholarships to many first-year students, international students included, and these cut tuition considerably. Music students may also receive talent awards after their audition.
