St Mary's was founded in 1850 to train Catholic teachers, and it still has a strong education department. The campus is at Strawberry Hill in Twickenham, next to Horace Walpole's white Gothic villa. It's best known now for sport: sports science, strength and conditioning, and a long list of athletes who trained here. Classes are small by London standards.

Twickenham is in south-west London, on the Thames, and home to England's national rugby stadium. Strawberry Hill station is a short walk from campus, with trains to Waterloo.
It feels more like a riverside town than central London. Richmond and Kingston are close for shops and nights out.

Undergraduates usually apply through UCAS by the January equal consideration date. Postgraduate courses take applications until full. International students should apply by June for September to leave time for the CAS and visa.
September is the main intake. Some postgraduate courses also start in January.
