Instead of juggling six modules at once, students at SRH University Heidelberg take one block at a time. The CORE model splits the year into five-week blocks, each ending with a project or exam. Founded in 1969, SRH is one of Germany's older private universities and part of a foundation that also runs hospitals and schools. International students mostly come for English-taught master's programmes in computing, data, water technology and business.

The SRH campus is in the west of Heidelberg, a tram ride from the old town, the castle and the Neckar river.
Heidelberg is small, pretty and full of students. Rent is higher than in many German cities, and Mannheim and Frankfurt are close by train.

SRH accepts applications on a rolling basis. Non-EU applicants should apply at least five months ahead to open a blocked account and get a visa appointment.
Most master's programmes start in October, and several also start in April.
You'll need a national visa for study. The blocked account is the part people forget to open in time, so start it as soon as the admission letter arrives. Indian applicants also need an APS certificate.
Applied computer science, big data and AI, water technology and international business are popular. Entry needs a relevant bachelor's degree and IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 88. Some programmes also ask for a motivation letter.
SRH offers some scholarships and early-payment discounts. The Deutschlandstipendium is also open to strong students. Ask admissions for details.
