Commonwealth Avenue runs straight past Questrom, Boston University's business school, with Green Line trains rattling by outside. It's one of the larger business schools in the US, teaching undergraduates in the BSBA and graduate students in the MBA and a set of specialised master's degrees. Analytics and finance feature heavily. Boston's banks, consultancies and biotech firms are a short ride away.

BU's campus stretches along the Charles River, and Questrom sits in the middle of it, near Kenmore Square and Fenway Park. The Green Line runs to downtown and Back Bay.
Boston is a university city, with MIT and Harvard across the river in Cambridge. Rent is among the highest in the US and winters are cold, so budget for both.
Form I-20 issued by Boston University
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
Undergraduates apply to Boston University by early November for Early Decision or early January for Regular Decision. Graduate programmes admit in rounds from autumn to spring, and international applicants should aim for the earlier rounds.
Undergraduate and graduate programmes start in September.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from Boston University after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
The BSBA, full-time MBA, MS Business Analytics, MS Mathematical Finance and MS Management Studies are popular. The MBA needs work experience and a GMAT or GRE score; the specialised master's degrees suit recent graduates. You need an English test if English isn't your first language.
Questrom gives merit scholarships to graduate students, including international applicants, as part of admission. International undergraduates at BU get very little aid, so plan to pay the full cost.
