Marjon grew out of the College of St Mark and St John, two London teacher-training colleges that moved to Plymouth in the 1970s. The campus is on the northern edge of the city, near Derriford Hospital. Teaching and sport are still at its core, along with speech and language therapy and business. Classes are small, and Dartmoor is a short drive away.

The campus is at Derriford, a bus ride from the city centre, with student housing on site and in nearby areas such as Crownhill. Derriford Hospital, a large NHS teaching hospital, is next door.
Plymouth is a naval port with the Barbican's old streets, the Hoe above Plymouth Sound and the Mayflower Steps. Rent is modest by UK standards, and the Cornish coast is close.

Undergraduate applications go through UCAS, with the main deadline in mid-January for September entry. Marjon considers later applications if places remain, but speech and language therapy fills early, so apply by January.

A UK Student visa, sponsored by Plymouth Marjon University. Once you hold a CAS, apply online, show funds held for 28 days, and pay the Immigration Health Surcharge. Most decisions come back within three weeks from outside the UK.
Sport and exercise science, sport coaching, business management and speech and language therapy are popular. Entry is based on A-level or equivalent grades plus IELTS 6.0. Speech and language therapy asks for a much higher English level, IELTS 8.0.
