The Columbus campus is a small city in itself, centred on the Oval lawn and Thompson Library, with the Olentangy River, the medical centre and the stadium on its edges.
Columbus is Ohio's capital and one of the fastest-growing cities in the US Midwest. Rent is moderate, the Short North arts district borders campus, and Intel's new fabs are driving tech hiring.

For autumn 2027 undergraduate entry, Early Action closes 1 November 2026 and Regular Decision closes 1 February 2027. Graduate deadlines are set by each programme: most engineering and computer science master's close around 1 December to 15 January, and Fisher's MBA has rounds through April.
Undergraduates start in autumn (late August). Many engineering and computer science master's programmes also admit for spring (January), while the MBA and business master's are autumn only. Check your programme's page, as spring places are often limited.
You need an F-1 student visa. The Office of International Affairs issues your Form I-20 once you accept the offer and submit proof of funding. Then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and book an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Computer science and engineering, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, business analytics and the Fisher MBA attract the most international applicants. Graduate admission needs a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0, TOEFL 79-100 or IELTS 7.0, and the GRE or GMAT for some programmes.
Ohio State offers limited merit scholarships to international undergraduates, considered automatically when you apply by the Early Action deadline; need-based aid is not available. Graduate students can apply for teaching and research assistantships and university fellowships, which cover tuition and pay a stipend in many engineering and science programmes.
