NYU's engineering school isn't in Greenwich Village. It's across the East River at MetroTech Center in Downtown Brooklyn, on the site of the old Polytechnic Institute, which traces back to 1854 and merged fully into NYU in 2014. Tandon teaches computer science, electrical and computer engineering, cybersecurity, financial engineering and urban science. Graduate students make up a large share of the school, many of them from India and China.

MetroTech is a busy office and campus district above Jay Street station, with the A, C, F and R trains. Brooklyn Bridge Park and the waterfront are a short walk.
Manhattan is one stop away. Rent in Brooklyn is high, and many students share apartments further out in Brooklyn or Queens.
Form I-20 issued by New York University
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
Undergraduates apply through NYU with Early Decision in November or Regular Decision in early January. Graduate deadlines are mostly between December and February for fall, and around October for spring where offered.
Most programmes start in September. Several master's programmes also take a January intake.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from New York University after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Computer science, cybersecurity, financial engineering and electrical engineering are the busiest graduate programmes. You need a relevant bachelor's degree with strong maths and IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 90. Financial engineering also expects a quantitative background and may ask for the GRE.
Tandon offers partial merit scholarships to some master's students, decided at admission. Undergraduate aid for international students is limited, so check NYU's current policy.
