The MD uses AMCAS with deadlines in the autumn a year before entry. Public health and graduate science programmes accept applications into spring, and clinical programmes such as physical therapy use national application services.
Most programmes start in August. Public health also admits in January.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from New York Medical College after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
The MD, MPH, physical therapy, speech-language pathology and pharmacology attract international applicants. The MD needs the MCAT and US or Canadian prerequisite coursework, and international applicants face tight eligibility and funding rules. Other programmes need a relevant bachelor's degree and TOEFL results.
Scholarships are limited and often need-based for US students. International MD applicants may be asked to show funding for the full course. Ask each school about merit awards.
