Curtis has fewer than a thousand people, and the college is its biggest presence. NCTA is a two-year college of the University of Nebraska, set in the ranch and farm country of south-west Nebraska. It teaches agronomy, animal science, agribusiness and veterinary technology, with livestock and crop land right on campus. Many students come from farm families and go straight back to work the land.

NCTA accepts applications on a rolling basis. International applicants should apply by early summer for August and confirm with admissions that they can issue an I-20 for their programme.
Most students start in August. Some programmes allow a January start.
It's the F-1 student visa. Get your I-20 from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture first (they need your deposit and bank documents), then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and attend the visa interview. Book the interview early in peak season.
Agribusiness management, agronomy, animal science and veterinary technology are the main programmes. Entry needs a secondary school diploma and English test results. Some farm experience helps, especially for the livestock courses.
NCTA has foundation scholarships, many linked to agriculture groups and livestock judging. Ask admissions which ones are open to international students.
