Horse farms surround the town of Midway, in Kentucky's Bluegrass region between Lexington and Frankfort, and the university's equine programmes make full use of them. Midway began in 1847 as a school for orphaned girls and admitted men to all programmes in 2016. Today it's a small private university teaching equine studies, nursing, business and health sciences.

International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from Midway University after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Equine management, nursing, business and health care administration are popular. Entry is based on high school grades, with IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 71 for international students.
Midway gives merit scholarships to most undergraduates, including international students, and some equine awards.
