Audrey Cohen founded this school in 1964 to train working adults for public service jobs, and that practical streak remains. Metropolitan College of New York is a small private college in Lower Manhattan, teaching business, public administration, human services and education. Most classes link coursework to a project at the student's workplace or internship. Many programmes run year-round.

The college is in the Financial District, close to Battery Park and the Hudson River Greenway. Subway lines from across the city meet nearby.
New York is very expensive. Most students share flats in Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx and commute in.
Form I-20 issued by the institution
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
MCNY admits students on a rolling basis for three terms a year. International students should apply at least three to four months ahead to allow time for the I-20 and visa.
There are fall, spring and summer intakes.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from Metropolitan College of New York after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
The MBA, MPA in emergency and disaster management, and business and human services bachelor's degrees are popular. Graduate entry needs a bachelor's degree and IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 79.
The college offers some scholarships and tuition discounts. Ask admissions which are open to international students.
