Georgetown's business school sits in the Rafik B. Hariri Building on the university's hilltop campus above the Potomac. McDonough teaches undergraduate business, a full-time MBA and several specialist master's degrees. Its location gives it a focus on business, policy and international affairs that few schools can copy. Many students work with the IMF, World Bank and consulting firms downtown.

Georgetown is a historic neighbourhood of brick townhouses and cobbled streets, with M Street's shops and the C&O Canal towpath at the bottom of the hill.
There's no Metro station in Georgetown itself, so students use buses or the Circulator to reach downtown. Washington is expensive, especially rent.

The MBA runs several rounds from autumn to spring. Specialist master's programmes use rolling or round-based deadlines. International applicants should apply in an early round to allow for visa processing.
Most programmes start in August, with orientation in the summer for some.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Georgetown University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
The MBA, MS Finance and MS Business Analytics are popular with international students. You need a strong degree, GMAT or GRE for most programmes, essays, an interview and TOEFL 100 or equivalent.
McDonough offers merit fellowships to MBA and master's applicants, assessed from the application. Most awards cover part of tuition.
