Set on a bluff above Playa Vista, with views to the Pacific and the LAX runways, Loyola Marymount is a Jesuit university on LA's west side. Its film and television school is the best-known part, with close ties to studios and streamers. Business, engineering and communication are strong too. Silicon Beach tech firms are just down the hill.

The campus is on a hill in Westchester, between LAX and Marina del Rey. Playa Vista's offices and restaurants sit at the foot of the bluff.
Venice Beach and Santa Monica are a short drive away. LA is spread out and costly, so most students share housing and many use a car.

First-year applicants usually apply by November for early action or January for regular decision. Graduate deadlines vary by programme, often January to spring for fall entry.
Most students start in the fall (late August). Some graduate programmes also admit students in spring.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Loyola Marymount University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Film and television, business, computer science and the MBA are popular. Undergraduate entry is competitive and film programmes ask for a creative portfolio. English requirements are around IELTS 6.5-7.0.
LMU offers merit scholarships to international first-year students, assessed automatically. Graduate scholarships are limited and set by each school.
