LJMU has worked with Study Group since 2008, and its International Study Centre is where students who need more preparation begin. The centre sits in Liverpool city centre, close to the university's own buildings. It offers a foundation year, an international year one and pre-master's routes, with progression to LJMU degrees in business, engineering, computing and science. Classes are small, and English runs through the whole timetable.

LJMU's buildings are spread through the city centre, from the Copperas Hill campus by Lime Street to the Georgian quarter. Most places are walkable.
Liverpool is one of the cheaper big cities for students. The Albert Dock and Pier Head are on the waterfront, and Merseyrail trains run out to the beaches at Crosby and Formby.

Applications are open all year. Apply around three months before your start date so you have time to get a CAS and a visa decision.
Most programmes start in September and January. Ask the centre whether an extended version of your course runs at other times.
The Student route visa. Your CAS comes from Liverpool John Moores University after you meet your offer conditions and pay the deposit; the online application needs proof of funds, your English result and the health surcharge.
Business, engineering and computing foundations are the most chosen, with business pre-master's popular among graduates. The foundation needs completed secondary school and IELTS about 4.5; the pre-master's needs a bachelor's degree and IELTS 5.0.
Study Group offers scholarships on pathway fees for some intakes. LJMU also gives international scholarships for the degree, so check its funding pages before you commit.
