La Trobe accepts international applications on a rolling basis for each intake. For February 2027 entry, apply by November 2026, and for July 2027 by May 2027, to leave time for the offer, the Confirmation of Enrolment and the visa. Nursing and health courses with clinical places can close earlier.
Most undergraduate and postgraduate courses start in February (Semester 1) and July (Semester 2). Many business and IT Master's degrees, including information technology, business analytics, the MBA and cybersecurity, also admit for a November start. Nursing is February and July only.
You need a Student visa (subclass 500). La Trobe issues your Confirmation of Enrolment after you accept the offer and pay the deposit. Apply online to the Department of Home Affairs with proof of funds, Overseas Student Health Cover and a Genuine Student statement, and complete a health check if asked.
Information technology, business analytics, nursing, the MBA and cybersecurity attract the most international applicants. Master's entry needs a bachelor's degree with a credit average or equivalent, TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0; nursing requires IELTS 7.0. Undergraduate entry is assessed on Year 12 results.
