International Technological University is a small private graduate school in San Jose, founded in the 1990s to teach engineering and business to people working in Silicon Valley. ITU is a compact urban campus rather than a residential one, so students rent shared apartments nearby. VTA light rail and buses link most of the city.
San Jose is one of the most expensive places to live in the US. Budget carefully for rent before you commit.
Form I-20 issued by ITU
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
ITU admits students for spring, summer and fall on a rolling basis. International applicants should apply at least three months ahead to leave time for the I-20 and visa interview.
Programmes start in spring, summer and fall.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from ITU after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Electrical engineering, computer science, engineering management and the MBA are the main programmes. Entry needs a relevant bachelor's degree and an English score such as IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 71.
ITU has offered limited tuition scholarships. Ask admissions what is available and confirm the university's current status before you pay a deposit.
