HEC Montréal opened in 1907, making it Canada's oldest business school. Its main building is on the slope of Mount Royal in Côte-des-Neiges, beside Université de Montréal, and it added a downtown building in 2023. Teaching is mainly in French, but the BBA can be taken in English or trilingually, and the MBA runs in English. It holds AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditation.

BBA applications for September usually close on March 1. Graduate deadlines vary by programme, often in winter or early spring. Allow extra time for the CAQ and study permit.
Most programmes start in September. Some MSc specialisations also admit students in January.
You need a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and then a Canadian study permit, supported by the letter of acceptance from HEC Montréal. Apply online to IRCC with proof of funds and biometrics.
The BBA, MSc in business analytics and finance, and the MBA attract most international students. French-taught programmes need proof of French; English-taught ones need IELTS 6.5-7.0. The MBA also asks for work experience and GMAT or GRE.
HEC Montréal offers entrance scholarships for international students, including some that reduce the international fee. Check the scholarship page for your programme.
