Hochschule Fresenius began in 1848 as Carl Remigius Fresenius's chemistry laboratory in Wiesbaden, and its Idstein campus in the Taunus hills still carries that science focus. It is a private, state-recognised university of applied sciences. Idstein is where chemistry and therapy programmes such as physiotherapy are taught, mostly in German, while business, media and psychology run at its city campuses.

Idstein is a small town with a half-timbered old centre and the campus close by. It is quiet, and many students live locally or commute.
Frankfurt and Wiesbaden are both within about 40 minutes by train, and rents in Idstein are lower than in either city.
Admission letter from Fresenius University of Applied Sciences
Blocked account for living costs
German-recognised health insurance
APS certificate for applicants from India
English test at required level
Valid passport and national visa form
Hochschule Fresenius accepts applications on a rolling basis while places remain. Non-EU applicants should apply at least five months ahead for the blocked account and German visa.
Most Idstein programmes start in the winter semester in October.
You'll need a national visa for study. The blocked account is the part people forget to open in time, so start it as soon as the admission letter arrives. Indian applicants also need an APS certificate.
Applied chemistry, business chemistry, physiotherapy and occupational therapy are popular at Idstein. They are taught in German, so applicants need recognised school results and German at C1.
Ask Hochschule Fresenius about scholarships and payment plans. The Deutschlandstipendium is also open to strong students.
