For fall 2027 undergraduate entry, the regular deadline is 1 December 2026, with an earlier priority date in October. Graduate deadlines are set by each programme, with most computer science and engineering master's closing between January and March for fall.
Undergraduates start in the fall (late August), with a summer start offered to some admitted students. Many master's programmes, including computer science, engineering, IT and the MBA, also admit for spring (January), while business analytics is fall only.
You need an F-1 student visa. The Center for Global Engagement issues your Form I-20 after you accept the offer and submit proof of funding. Then pay the SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 and book an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Computer science, business analytics, the MBA, electrical engineering and information technology attract the most international applicants. Graduate admission needs a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0, TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.5, and the GRE or GMAT for some programmes. Undergraduate admission is selective, with an acceptance rate around 25%.
Florida State offers limited merit scholarships to international undergraduates, considered automatically when you apply; need-based aid is not available, though the low non-resident tuition offsets this. Graduate students can apply for teaching and research assistantships, which waive tuition in many science and engineering departments.
