Durham is small. The cathedral, castle, colleges and most departments are within walking distance of each other on either side of the River Wear.
Rents are lower than in most university cities, and Newcastle is about 15 minutes by train. London takes roughly three hours.

Master's programmes use rolling admissions, but popular MSc courses can fill before summer, so apply in the autumn or winter before entry. Undergraduates apply through UCAS by the January equal-consideration deadline.
Master's and MBA courses start in late September or October, with the university year. Most programmes have no January start.
The Student route visa. Your CAS comes from Durham University after you meet your offer conditions and pay the deposit; the online application needs proof of funds, your English result and the health surcharge.
The MSc Finance pathways, MSc Management, Business Analytics and the MBA are popular. Master's entry usually needs a good bachelor's degree, equivalent to a UK 2:1, and IELTS 7.0. The MBA also asks for work experience.
