Herman DeVry opened a technical school in Chicago in 1931, and the university that grew from it now has its main offices in the western suburbs around Naperville. DeVry teaches career-focused bachelor's degrees in technology, business and healthcare, and graduate business degrees through its Keller Graduate School of Management. Much of its teaching is now online or hybrid, so international students should confirm which programmes can be taken in person on an F-1 visa.

Naperville is a large, safe suburb along the DuPage River, with a walkable downtown and a riverwalk. It sits on the I-88 tech and research corridor.
Metra's BNSF line runs to Chicago Union Station in under an hour. A car makes suburban life much easier.
Form I-20 issued by DeVry University
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application
US embassy or consulate interview
Passport valid six months beyond stay
DeVry admits students on a rolling basis with several start dates a year. International applicants should allow three to four months for the I-20 and visa.
Sessions start every few weeks through the year. For F-1 students, the practical start dates are in January, May and September.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, DeVry University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Computer information systems, business administration and the Keller MBA are the most popular. Undergraduates need secondary school completion; the MBA needs a bachelor's degree. Check which courses meet F-1 in-person rules.
DeVry offers scholarships and grants, mostly aimed at US students. Ask admissions which awards international students can receive.
