Newfoundland and Labrador's public college has campuses from the Avalon Peninsula to Labrador, and most international students end up at the St. John's sites. College of the North Atlantic teaches two- and three-year diplomas in business, engineering technology, IT, and tourism and hospitality. Tuition is low by Canadian standards. The province also runs a nominee stream for international graduates who stay and work there.

St. John's is a harbour city on the far eastern edge of North America. Signal Hill overlooks the Narrows, and the painted houses of Jellybean Row climb the streets above George Street's pubs.
It is small, friendly and cheaper than Toronto. The weather is windy, foggy and changeable, so a waterproof jacket matters more than a heavy one.
Letter of acceptance from the institution
Newfoundland and Labrador provincial attestation letter
Proof of funds for tuition and living
Online IRCC study permit application
Medical exam, if requested
Valid passport and biometrics
College of the North Atlantic admits international students on a rolling basis. Apply at least six to eight months before a September start, as popular programmes fill and study permits take time.
Most programmes start in September. A few also start in January.
Study permit, applied for through IRCC. You'll upload the acceptance letter from College of the North Atlantic, an attestation letter if your programme needs one, proof you can pay tuition and living costs, and then give biometrics.
Business administration, civil engineering technology, computer systems and networking, and tourism and hospitality are popular. You need a secondary school diploma, maths for technology programmes, and IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80.
The college has a small number of entrance awards and bursaries. Tuition is already low, and funding for international students is limited, so plan to cover costs yourself.
