Most students at Choice Business College's Melbourne campus come for a vocational diploma, not a university degree. The college is a private registered training organisation, and in Melbourne it teaches business, leadership and management, plus a hospitality management diploma with a cookery stream. Courses are short. Many run for about a year, and some students use them as a stepping stone to further study.

Melbourne moves by tram, and rides inside the CBD's free tram zone cost nothing. Students on a visa can work up to 48 hours a fortnight during term, and cafes, retail and hospitality hire plenty of them.
Rent is the big cost. Shared houses in Footscray, Brunswick or Carlton are common, and the Queen Victoria Market is where a lot of students buy cheap fruit, vegetables and bread.
CoE from Choice Business College
Proof of funds for fees and living
Overseas Student Health Cover
English test at required level
Genuine Student statement
Valid passport and health check
Choice Business College takes applications through the year. Apply at least three months before you want to start so there is time for the offer, the CoE and the student visa.
The college runs several intakes a year rather than one fixed start date. Check the next Melbourne dates with admissions or your education agent.
The Student visa, subclass 500. Choice Business College issues a Confirmation of Enrolment after you accept and pay the deposit; the application itself needs proof of funds, health cover (OSHC) and a Genuine Student statement.
The Diploma of Business, the Diploma of Leadership and Management and the hospitality diploma with cookery are the usual picks. Entry generally needs Year 12 or equivalent and IELTS 5.5. The graduate diploma asks for a bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
Scholarships are uncommon at private vocational colleges, and Choice Business College is no exception. Tuition is already much lower than at universities. Ask admissions whether any fee discounts are running for your intake.
