Cambridge College was set up in 1971 for adults who wanted a degree without leaving work. It is a private nonprofit college, now based in Boston, and most classes run in the evening or at weekends. Education, counselling psychology, management and human services are its core areas. Classmates tend to be older than at a typical US university, and many already work in schools or social services.

Boston is a compact, walkable city with the T subway, dozens of universities and cold, snowy winters.
Rent is among the highest in the US. Students often share apartments in Dorchester, Somerville or Quincy and travel in by train.
Form I-20 issued by Cambridge College
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application

Passport valid six months beyond stay
Cambridge College admits on a rolling basis. International applicants should apply at least four months before term to leave time for the I-20 and visa.
There are fall, spring and summer terms, and many programmes admit in each.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Cambridge College issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Management, health care management, human services, education and counselling psychology are the main programmes. Undergraduates need a school diploma or transfer credit; graduate applicants need a bachelor's degree and IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80.
Institutional scholarships are limited. Tuition is charged per credit, so part of the cost depends on course load.
