Hinkle Fieldhouse, where Hoosiers filmed its final game, stands on Butler University's campus in north Indianapolis. The abolitionist lawyer Ovid Butler founded the university in 1855. It's a private university with a pharmacy college, a business school and a well-known dance programme. The Central Canal towpath runs along one edge of campus, and the Newfields art museum is next door.
