A block from Grand Central Terminal, on East 43rd Street, Berkeley College runs its Midtown Manhattan campus. The college is private and career-focused, with its roots in New Jersey, and it offers associate and bachelor's degrees rather than research programmes. Business, fashion, health services and criminal justice make up most of the teaching. Classes are small, and plenty of students work while they study.

The campus is on a busy block between Fifth and Madison Avenues. Grand Central's subway lines and Metro-North trains are two minutes away, and Bryant Park and the New York Public Library are close by.
Nobody lives in Midtown on a student budget. Most students share flats in Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn or New Jersey and commute in.

New students can start in September, January or May.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Berkeley College issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Management, accounting, fashion marketing and management, and criminal justice are the main programmes. Entry needs secondary school completion and proof of English such as TOEFL or IELTS, and the college may test English on arrival.
Berkeley College offers some grants and scholarships, including awards for international students. Amounts vary, so ask admissions for the current list.
