Barnard College faces Columbia University across Broadway in Morningside Heights, and the two have been partners since 1900. Founded in 1889, it is a women's liberal arts college of about 3,000 undergraduates. Students take classes at both schools and graduate with a Columbia University degree. Barnard keeps its own faculty, admissions and campus.

Barnard has an early decision deadline of 1 November and a regular decision deadline of 1 January. International applicants follow the same dates.
Barnard admits first-year students for the fall semester, which starts in late August or early September.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Barnard College issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Economics, neuroscience, computer science, political science and English are popular. Admission is highly selective, based on grades, essays and recommendations. Non-native English speakers usually submit TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo scores.
Barnard does not offer merit scholarships. It gives need-based aid to some international students, and asking for aid can affect admission, so read the policy before applying.
