Twenty-six miles north-east of downtown Los Angeles, at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, Azusa Pacific University runs a Christian campus split into East and West sections. Founded in 1899, it offers nursing, business, music, psychology and education, plus graduate programmes in fields such as physical therapy and counselling. Faith is part of daily life, and undergraduates attend chapel.

Azusa is a small city at the mouth of the San Gabriel Canyon, with hiking trails minutes from campus. The A Line runs from APU/Citrus College station to Pasadena and downtown LA.
Rent is lower than in central Los Angeles but still high by US standards. Summers are hot, and a car helps at weekends.
Form I-20 issued by Azusa Pacific University
Proof of funds for one academic year
SEVIS I-901 fee payment receipt
Completed DS-160 online application

Azusa Pacific has early action and regular deadlines for fall entry and later deadlines for spring. International students should apply early to leave time for the I-20 and visa.
Undergraduates start in August or January. Graduate programmes have several start dates.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Azusa Pacific University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Nursing, business, psychology and computer science are popular. Admission looks at school grades and essays; non-native speakers need about IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79.
APU offers merit scholarships to first-year undergraduates, including international students. Awards are based on academic record and decided at admission.
