Psychology and counselling are where ACAP began, back when it was called the Australian College of Applied Psychology. It is now a private higher education provider owned by Navitas, with campuses in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. The course list has grown to social work, criminology, community services and law, but the focus is still on people-facing professions. Placements are built into most degrees.

The Melbourne campus is in the CBD, close to trams and Southern Cross station, with no residences. Students rent shared flats or student apartments nearby.
Melbourne is known for coffee, laneways, sport and a long list of free events. Rent is high, but public transport is good.

ACAP accepts applications until a few weeks before each trimester. International students should apply three to four months ahead for the CoE and visa.
There are three trimester starts, in February, June and September. Some degrees, including social work, start once a year.
The Student visa, subclass 500. Australian College of Applied Professions issues a Confirmation of Enrolment after you accept and pay the deposit; the application itself needs proof of funds, health cover (OSHC) and a Genuine Student statement.
Psychological science, counselling, social work, criminology and the counselling master's are popular. Undergraduates need Year 12 or equivalent; the master's needs a bachelor's degree. Most courses ask for IELTS 6.5, and social work and the master's ask for 7.0.
ACAP offers a small number of international scholarships and fee reductions. Check the current list before applying.
