Augsburg University sits in Cedar-Riverside, the Minneapolis neighbourhood at the heart of the city's large Somali community. Norwegian Lutherans founded it in 1869, and it is now a private university of about 3,000 students. Physician assistant studies, nursing, social work and business are strengths. The Green Line light rail stops a few minutes' walk away.

Augsburg reviews applications on a rolling basis. International students should apply by spring for fall entry to leave time for the I-20 and visa.
Undergraduates start in August or January; graduate programmes set their own start dates.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Augsburg University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Nursing, business, computer science and social work are popular, and the physician assistant programme is competitive. Undergraduates need school grades and IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 71; graduate programmes need a bachelor's degree and usually higher scores.
Augsburg gives merit scholarships to first-year undergraduates, and international applicants are considered. Graduate funding is more limited.
