French priests of the Augustinians of the Assumption founded Assumption in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1904, and it became a university in 2020. It is a Catholic, mainly undergraduate school of about 2,000 students. There is a business school, a nursing school and a campus in Rome where students can spend a semester. Boston is about an hour east.

Worcester is New England's second-largest city, with more than a dozen colleges and a busy restaurant strip along Shrewsbury Street. Polar Park, home of the WooSox baseball team, opened downtown in 2021.
Rent is lower than in Boston. Commuter rail trains run from Worcester's Union Station to Boston's South Station in about 90 minutes.

Assumption has early action and early decision rounds in the autumn and a regular round in winter for fall entry. International students should apply in an early round where possible to leave time for the I-20.
Undergraduates start in late August. Graduate programmes also admit in January.
You'll need an F-1 visa. Once you accept your offer and send proof of funding, Assumption University issues the Form I-20. After that it's the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US embassy or consulate.
Nursing, business, psychology and accounting are popular. Admission is based on school grades and recommendations; students whose first language isn't English need about IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80.
Assumption offers merit scholarships to most first-year students, including international applicants. Awards are set at admission and renew each year with good grades.
