Ashland is a small, quiet city ringed by farmland, with a compact downtown along Main Street. Mohican State Park, good for canoeing and hiking, is about half an hour south.

Ashland reviews applications on a rolling basis. International applicants should apply several months ahead of the semester to allow time for the I-20 and visa appointment.
Students start in August or January. Some graduate programmes have additional start dates.
International students come in on an F-1 visa. The I-20 comes from Ashland University after you confirm your place and show you can cover a year of costs; you then pay the SEVIS fee, fill in the DS-160 and book your consulate interview.
Nursing, business, toxicology, exercise science and education are popular. Undergraduates need school grades and IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 71; the MBA needs a bachelor's degree and slightly higher English scores.
Ashland awards merit scholarships to many first-year students, including international applicants. Graduate scholarships are more limited.
